St. John’s and The Arts

St. John’s and the Arts

St. John’s, with the help of the Holy Spirit, will be a dynamic fellowship of Christian worshipers seeking greater understanding of faith and service through programs of spiritual growth, education, and the arts.

Since its incorporation and consecration in 1884, St. John’s has had an interest in the arts as they inspire worship and one’s personal spiritual growth. From the commissioning of our stained glass windows to our latest musical, theatrical, and visual creative endeavors, and our support of students and programs at the CMU School of Music and Department of Musical Theatre, we are always on the lookout for new artistic ways to express our faith, our spirituality, our sense of who we are.If you’d like to be kept up to date by receiving our monthly Newsletter, The Evangel, please fill out the contact form below.

We have held several “Arty Parties” where we auction off pieces of fine art and craft items to help support not only our local artists but also our mission of outreach and assistance to the members of our community in need.

Here’s a sample of our music, “Deep River,” sung by the St. John’s Choir on February 28, 2016.

Chase Simpson, Choirmaster; Mary Lou Nowicki, Organist.
