Good News!  People Helping People of Isabella County (PHP) has recently received a $10,000 grant from the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation.  This grant will cover the cost of 1,052 Max & Emily’s lunches on Sundays, when the soup kitchen is closed (and no other social services provide meals).

Each Sunday, over 150 Isabella County men, women, and children are welcomed by name to Max & Emily’s, where they enjoy a complimentary deli lunch:  a hearty sandwich, a chip bag, an applesauce pouch, and a fresh banana—food to nourish the body and soul because it is served with respect and dignity.  Working with Christopher “Elmo” Walton, the late Tim Brockman began PHP more than ten years ago, and his family continues the program in his honor.

PHP is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status.  To learn more about PHP (its history, its partners, and its impact), please visit the webpage:  https://phpofisabellacounty.org.  St. John’s generously gives a “loose change” offering to PHP each month.  However, additional donations may be mailed to PHP, c/o Blystone and Bailey, 619 South Mission Street, Mt.
